Fast Fix-it Chart for Web Pages

 

The chart below deals with the possible problems that AdsOff! can cause while browsing pages.  If you discover problems using AdsOff! for popular sites, please notify us so that we can update our filter for everyone.  In the meantime, you can use one of the solutions below to fix the problem for your filter.  
 
Generally, you just need to pick one of the possible solutions offered.  After you have made the suggested changes, you can then go back to the page and refresh your browser for the changes to take effect.  When refreshing your browser, it is sometimes necessary to force a complete refresh by holding down the SHIFT key and pressing the 'Reload' button on Netscape, or holding down CTRL and pressing the 'Refresh' button on IE.
 
 
Problem  Reason Possible Solution(s)
An ad is getting through without being filtered AdsOff! doesn't recognize all ads or isn't sure about some pictures 1)  Increase the strength of ad filtering.

2) Put the ad in the Blocklist by going to the AdsOff! Event Log, choosing the graphic that is getting through, and then clicking on the 'Add to Blocklist' button.
An image that is not an ad is being removed by AdsOff! Some images look like ads to AdsOff! 1) Decrease the strength of the ad filtering.

2) Go to the AdsOff! Event Log and choose the graphic that was removed, then click on the 'Remove from Blocklist' button.  Then return to the site and refresh your browser. 
A page is showing up blank or as a '1x1 gif' AdsOff!'s Femtofast technology is preventing access to this site believing it is HTML for an ad 1) Try decreasing the strength of the ad filtering.

2) Customize AdsOff! by going to the AdsOff! Event Log and choosing the page that was just removed, then click on the 'Remove from Blocklist' button.  Then return to the site and refresh your browser. 
A page doesn't have expected functionality AdsOff! may have removed JavaScript that also involves window opening or onload commands 1) Decrease the strength of the popup window filter.

2) Customize AdsOff! by going to the AdsOff! 'Custom Popup Blocking' and add the domain for the page with the problem (for example, www.adsoff.com).  Then return to the site and refresh your browser. 
Clicking on a hyperlink doesn't do anything AdsOff! may have removed an 'open window' command 1) Decrease the strength of the popup window filter.

2) Customize AdsOff! by going to the AdsOff! 'Custom Popup Blocking' and add the domain for the page with the problem (for example, www.adsoff.com).  Then return to the site and refresh your browser.
